Esta semana, o escolhido \u00e9 <strong>Fanny Burney<\/strong>&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>Fanny Burney<\/strong> nasceu em 13 de junho de 1752. Na sua inf\u00e2ncia conviveu com a melhor sociedade londrina onde estava perfeitamente integrada. Durante\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1166 alignright\" style=\"border-color: #bbbbbb; background: #eeeeee; color: #1b8be0;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oncoanestesia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/FB1-246x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"155\" height=\"186\" \/>5 anos (1786-1791), trabalhou na corte de George III e da rainha Charlotte.<br \/>\n Destacou-se como romancista tendo publicado v\u00e1rios livros\u00a0<span style=\"text-align: right;\">c\u00e9lebr<\/span><span style=\"text-align: right;\">es:<\/span><span style=\"text-align: right;\">\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"text-align: right;\">\u201cE<\/em><em style=\"text-align: right;\">velina\u201d, \u201cThe History of A Young Lady\u00b4s Entrance into the\u00a0<\/em><em style=\"text-align: right;\">World\u201d<\/em><span style=\"text-align: right;\">.<br \/>\n <\/span>Em 1793 Fanny Burney casou com Alexandre Jean Baptiste Piochard d\u00b4Arblay, general do ex\u00e9rcito de Lu\u00eds VI.<br \/>\n Em 1802 Fanny e a sua fam\u00edlia foram viver para Fran\u00e7a durante 10 anos. \u00c9 neste per\u00edodo, mais concretamente em 30 de setembro de 1811, que \u00e9 sujeita a mastectomia direita por suspeita de carcinoma da mama. Durante a cirurgia, recusou qualquer f\u00e1rmaco ou \u00e1lcool!&#8230; 9 meses depois escreve uma carta a sua irm\u00e3 Esther descrevendo os horrores da cirurgia sem anestesia\u2026<br \/>\n <em>\u201cA doctor gives her a wine cordial, the only anesthetic she receives. Waiting for all the doctors to arrive causes her agony, but at three o&#8217;clock, &#8220;my room, without previous message, was entered by 7 Men in black&#8221;.<br \/>\n <\/em><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1165 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oncoanestesia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/FB2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"156\" height=\"236\" \/><em>When the dreadful steel was plunged into the breast\u2014cutting through veins, arteries, fle<\/em><em>s<\/em><em>h, nerves\u2014I needed no injunctions not to restrain my cries. I began a scream that lasted u<\/em><em>nintermittingly during the whole t<\/em><em>ime of the incision\u2014&amp; I almost marvel that it rings not in my Ears still! so excruciating was the agony. When the wound was made, &amp; the instrument was withdrawn, the pain seemed undiminished, for the air that suddenly rushed into those delicate parts felt like a mass of minute but sharp &amp; forked poniards, that were tearing the edges of the wound\u2014<\/em> <em>but when again I felt the instrument\u2014describing a curve\u2014cutting against the grain, if I may so say, while the\u00a0<\/em><em>flesh resisted in a manner so forcible as to oppose &amp; tire the hand of the operator, who was forced to change from the rig<\/em><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-1164 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oncoanestesia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/FB3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"296\" height=\"225\" \/><em>ht to the left\u2014then, indeed, I thought I must have expired.<br \/>\n <\/em><em>I attempted no more to open my Eyes, \u2014they felt as if hermeti<\/em><em>c<\/em><em>ally shut, &amp; so firmly closed, that the Eyelids seemed indented into the\u00a0<\/em><em>Cheeks. The instrument this second time withdrawn, I concluded the operation over\u2014Oh no! present<\/em><em>ly the\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0terrible cutting was renewed\u2014&amp; worse than ever, to separate <\/em><em>the bottom, the foundation of this dreadful gland from the parts to which it adhered\u2014Again all description would be baffled\u2014yet again all was not over,\u2014Dr L<\/em><em>arry rested but his own hand, &amp;\u2014Oh Heaven!\u2014I then felt the Knife tackling against the\u00a0<\/em><em>bre<\/em><em>ast bone\u2014scraping it! \u2026not for days, not for Weeks, but for Months I could not speak of this terrible business without nearly again going through it!
